| Date : 9/4/02 Nick Name : bra1n1ac Comments : Oh. Okay, that's better. |
Date : 9/4/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : I wasn't offended at all! To me the poem is about being a fan for life! Forever & ever!!!!! More : Lol, I'm going to http://www.scoobysnack.net/oldsite/votevel.htm and voting for her!!!! |
| Date : 09/5/02 Nick Name : Jinkies Girl Comments : Hey, if you want to see which SD charecter you are like, then go to Quiz and find out! More : Make sure you tell who you got though. Oh, thanks Velma Fan! |
Date : 9/5/02 Nick Name : bra1n1ac Comments : Well, I took that quiz, and it was a lot of fun. Naturally, being innately spock-like, I, the bra1n1ac, wound up with Velma. Oh. We have so much in common. Glasses, math and analytical thought. More : If only more people were like that, I'd probably have more friends than I do. Now that I'm in college, though, everyone wants to be my friend, but you soon learn to tell which ones really care about you, and which ones just want your brain. |
| Date : 9/6/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : The quiz told me I was like Mrs Dinkley! I'm a bit like Shaggy too, cos I love food! More : Yeah, some unoriginal people simply copy you, cos they want your brain. If only they'd know they're hurting themselves as well, they'd stop. Oh, well...! |
Date : 9/6/02 Nick Name : DaphFlamm Comments : Hey, all! I was wondering if any of you can help me with a story? |
| Date : 9/7/02 Nick Name : Jinkies Girl Comments : DaphFlamm, what kind of a story is it and what kind of help do you need? |
Date : Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : I apologize for writing "Mrs" instead of "Ms" and for some gramatical mistakes! I type too fast |
| Date : 9/08/02 Nick Name : Jinkies Girl Comments : That's okay Velma Fan. We all make mistakes. No offense taken at all. |
Date : 9/8/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : Thanks |
| Date : 9/9/02 Nick Name : DaphFlamm Comments : Hi! Well, my story is a "13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo" fic - ever seen it? |
Date : 9/10/02 Nick Name : bra1n1ac Comments : In that case, it's no wonder you needed help with your story. How good can it possibly be if it takes place in an era of Scooby history where Velma and Fred are curiously missing, and Scrappy-Doo is granted his survival? More : There's a reason cartoon network hasn't been playing that series. Still, if that's you're cup of tea, how can I help exactly? Descriptions? Plots? Fresh characters or ideas? I can come up with stuff like that. |
| Date : 9/10/02 Nick Name : bra1n1ac Comments : P.S.: I didn't mean that to sound harsh, or as a personal insult, but frankly, that series drove me nuts. |
Date : 9/10/02 Nick Name : Jinkies Girl Comments : Hate to tell you all, but Cartoon Network is starting the 13 ghosts of SD uop again (No!!!!!!!) |
| Date : 9/10/02 Nick Name : Daphne Hime-Sama Comments : Hey! Leave DF alone! She has a right to like what ever series she wants to like!! 13 Ghosts is as much apart of the Scoobyverse as the older series! More : And another thing! In some of her 13 Ghosts fics she dose add Fred and Velma, and rearly gives SCrappy any scene time! Lay off! |
Date : 9/10/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : About 13GOSD, well, it's still SD, but I think that that series was far away from the original inspiration & spirit of the show. More : By that time it became too recycled and franchised... (No offense to fans 13GOSD though) As they say, to each his own. |
| Date : 9/11/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : Hi. I was thinking of other cartoon girls wearing glasses... Arale Norimaki from "Dr Slump" and Gina Lash from "Angela Anaconda" came to mind. More : Cheers! |
Date : 9/11/02 Nick Name : DaphFlamm Comments : It's true - I love 13 Ghosts (yay, they're startin' it up again! WOOHOO!) ^_^ Please do't flame me. I've been having some depression problems as it is. :( |
| Date : 9/11/02 Nick Name : DaphFlamm Comments : No offense, but I never liked the original show or the LA movie. Is it OK if I still be here? (If you don't like me I can leave if you want) :( More : |
Date : 9/11/02 Nick Name : bra1n1ac Comments : Sure. You can stick around if you like, but I think I should warn you that this place is mostly Velma fans (such as myself.) If you're doing anything with her, please let me know. More : I'll be quite interested. |

| Date : 9/13/02 Nick Name : Jinkies Girl Comments : I'm not sure if anyone has done this, but I'd like to thank John Likeglass for this site. Thank you ever so much John!!!! More : This site is the best out there. It means so much to me to see this site exist. Thanks!!! |
Date : 9/14/02 Nick Name : bra1n1ac Comments : Yeah, I'll go along with that. (short story ahead) The first time I found this site was when it was almost 8 at night, and I couldn't go to sleep! I practically lived at that computer for most of the night, More : and when I went to work the next morning, I was on such a velma-high (from reading EVERY ask velma response) that I didn't fall asleep there either. I don't know whether that's good or bad, but I like it. |
| Date : 9/15/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : I've discovered the site recently, and it's fantastic! A sincere homage and a helluvajob! Sure that interview makes you enter a world you don't want to leave!! More : In the webring section I've found another about Shaggy and Velma... It seems to be under construction but it looks so promising, having seen that poem...! |
Date : 9/15/02 Nick Name : DaphFlamm Comments : Can you guys tell me whatcha think of my site? here's the addy: www.geocities.com/hex_daphne/ More : *waits nervously for flames* |
| Date : 9/15/02 Nick Name : bra1n1ac Comments : Hey, Daphflamm. From a formal design point of view, your page looks great. If I were a "13 ghosts" kind of guy, rather than having a major crush on Velma, I might even visit it on a regular basis like I do with this site. More : I suppose the only thing I don't like about it is that it has to do with "13 ghosts." Velma always made me feel at home, and that series made me feel a little lonely by comparison... |
Date : 9/15/02 Nick Name : bra1n1ac Comments : Meanwhile, on a virtually unrelated topic, who here loves the new scooby show? It's like a clone of the original with more modern graphics and such. I love this new show, and I am actually taping the episodes. More : I thought Velma's new voice was a little unusual, but it didn't completely throw me off. I also think she looks just as nice in her snow outfit as in her turtleneck. Nothing could make her look bad, as long as she |
| Date : 9/15/02 Nick Name : bra1n1ac Comments : stays true to herself. I'm so sorry she got a cold, but hopefully it won't last long, and this next comment goes out to Velma herself... More : "So sad you got sick. Get well soon. Love, Bra1n1ac." |
Date : 9/15/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : I think I'll have to wait before I can watch it, cos I'm from Spain... More : (Looking at the new pics, that sweater) You can see her neck! It's me or the red skirt is a bit longer now? Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait...! |
| Date : 9/15/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : By the way, in the new Ask Velma section there's a question by a "Velma Fan", but it's not me. More : I used to draw a lot... I don't do it anymore. However, I'm planning to paint a little statue and transform it into a Velma figure! Good luck to the other VF! |
Date : 9/16/02 Nick Name : Comments : I just checked out the e-cards for the What's New SD website, and they had the one for each of the gang except Velma. More : I sent an email asking for a Velma one. They won't listen to one person but they might listen to many people. |
| Date : 9/16/02 Nick Name : Jinkes Girl Comments : *contined from last post (which was mine) If you think it's too childish or a bother to send one little email, then... More : you're not a true Velma fan. The address is: http://www.kidswb.com/Shows/Studio/SCO/0,10504,,00.html |
Date : 9/16/02 Nick Name : Jinkies Girl Comments : Oh, BTW, I was the other Velma Fan, but I decided to change my name. Thanks for the luck, present Velma Fan. |
| Date : 9/16/02 Nick Name : bra1n1ac Comments : Well, I sent my e-mail, but I have to say that I was very angry to hear that. Scooby-Doo is great not only because of Velma, but because it stands for and represents people from all walks of life. Cut one of them out, More : (the one I happen to be most like) and that is lost. How can they support the alienation of the brainy? It's so degrading! They're being down on the "nerd," and whenever someone does that, it does two things to me... |
Date : 9/16/02 Nick Name : bra1n1ac Comments : 1. It makes me feel lonely, as if I am the only one who cares about intelligent individuals, or worse, as if I am the only intelligent person in the world. I DO NOT want to feel lonely. More : 2. It raises in me the desire to do something about it, to make the world safe for my kind. You'd think that with so many intelligent people in charge of our world in one way or another, at least ONE of them would feel the same way. |
| Date : 9/17/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : I'm emailing them right now! And I encourage everyone to do the same! |
Date : 9/17/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : I've emailed them three times, and will keep doing it until there's an e-card of her. Big glasses rule IMO! They don't see her as "marketable" as the rest of characters... More : That's the impression I get. To them, some stuff sells, some does not. I'm not changing my views though, not one bit. |
| Date : 9/19/02 Nick Name : Dougster Comments : Hi John and everyone, I need to share something that's been on my mind. I'm afraid my Scooby movie review may have sounded a bit pompous ("They had to include crude humor, etc...maybe this was a trend started by Shrek.") What I meant to say was that sin |
Date : 9/19/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : Hi, can you please post the rest of your message? It's that 40 word thing! Thanks! |
| Date : 9-20-02 Nick Name : Eric B Comments : I guess you all haven't heard-- There's a rumor going around (supposedly from insiders) that the next Scooby animated movie will being back not only Heather North, but also NICOLE JAFFE. More : I sure hope it's true, as Velma has never been the same in the last 30 years, nearly. The movie (Vampire Island) is for real, as trailers for it already appeared on the new Scooby Meets Batman DVD. Also, the original style animation and remakes of the mus (Eric sent us this letter) |
Date : 9/21/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : A scene not included in a DVD? Then what DVD's are for? That sounded interesting! I'm checking out the Toonzone forum! |
-
| Date : 9/21/02 Nick Name : simiano Comments : could someone post up here what happens when Jadal uses the spells on Jeannie? what does the first and second do? My tv has been messed up for a while so i havent been able to see the picture so could someone tell me what happens when Jadal says "Now favo |
Date : 9-22-02 Nick Name : Eric B Comments : simion-- Jadal's spells first freezes Jeannie, then places her in the bottle. Velma fan-- You were apparently responding to what I sent in the e-mail. More : To clarify for everyone else, the scene left off of the DVD (and all the currently airing copies) was Velma and Batman discussing the dangers of counterfeiting. It was one of Velma's deepest lines. |
| Date : 9-22-02 Nick Name : Eric B Comments : also, here is where the toonzone discussion is: here (it has fallen to the 3rd page and may have be hard to find) More : Also, the forum where I discovered the rumor of Jaffe coming back: http://www.hbshows.com/forum/ |
Date : Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : Thanks a lot for the info. Maybe we'll see some character development in the new movie and series...! |
| Date : 9/24/02 Nick Name : Jinkies Girl Comments : Hey, does anyone know how to contact WB? I really need this info, so if anyone knows how, I would really apprecaite if you told me. More : If you know, but don't want everyone to see it, I'll give you my email. |
Date : Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : Hi ya'll... I hope you can contact them, Jinkies Girl. There must be a snail mail address, I guess. Best of luck!!! More : Thanks to a friend of mine I've discovered Tina Fey! I think she's a writer... She looks great & her fav color is orange!!!! 8-) |
| Date : Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : The coolest thing is that this has to do with the e-card topic... I asked their opinion in the WB board... |
Date : Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : Hey, was Space Ape At The Cape a cool episode? What happenned?? 8-) Thanks |
| Date : September 19 Nick Name : Dougster Comments : Sorry Velma Fan, I haven't looked at the forum for a while. I just meant to say that I felt the movie would've been better without crude humor... More : ...and I didn't want to sound stuck-up. Thanks! |
Date : 10/4/02 Nick Name : bra1n1ac Comments : Hey, Dougster. You were right. I totally agree with what you said about the movie, and don't worry. You didn't sound stuck up. At least not to me. More : And Velma Fan, my public television was out that saturday, so I didn't see the episode when they first played it, but they played the episode again today, and I enjoyed it, though I wouldn't know how to grade it. |
| Date : October 9 Nick Name : Dougster Comments : Thanks, bra1n1ac! And speaking of the movie, its DVD release is almost upon us! Can't wait to run out and get it. More : Will the deleted scenes include the famous Dinkley Knuckle Sandwich? Hope so, but whatever's on there, I'm sure it'll be good. |
Date : 10/9/02 Nick Name : Jinkies GIrl Comments : I can't wait for the DVD either!!! I hope the Dinkley fist sandwich is on there too, Dougster! I"m really excited! More : I'm hoping some other cool scenes are in there as well. It'll be great! |
| Date : 10/10/02 Nick Name : Dougster Comments : Jinkies Girl, I know that Linda C. did a big scene in which Velms jumps out of character and puts on a song-and-dance routine. More : Linda even worked with a choreographer, according to the movie scrapbook. That's gotta be in the DVD, should be cool to see!! |
Date : 10/10/02 Nick Name : bra1n1ac Comments : Velma singing and dancing? That WOULD be out of character. Dancing maybe, goodness knows she's skillful enough with her arms and legs, but as for singing, she has admitted to not singing well... More : And as for her delivering a knuckle sandwich to someone, all I can say is that with her knowledge of physics, who's to say how much damage that could do? I hope the gang survives! |
| Date : 10/10/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : She is a piece of heaven 8-) |
Date : 10/10/02 Nick Name : Vera Comments : I heard you all talking, and the DVD does come out tomorrow, right (the 11 of october)? |
| Date : 10/10/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : Yeah. By the way, what was the word that was used to say "Jinkies" in the French version? Scooby Doo was translated to Spanish by South American voice actors. More : Sometimes she said "chispas" (=sparks), but other times she said "charimbas" and I'm trying to find out what this means! 8-) |
Date : 10/10/02 Nick Name : Jinkies Girl Comments : I'm still trying to figure it out. I'll let you know as soon as I find out. More : Oh, Velma's name in french is Vera, according to the Wicthes Ghost. |
| Date : 10/10/02 Nick Name : Velma fan Comments : Yeah, I am curious about it... About the "charimbas" word, it seems like South American slang. I'm asking people with South American roots/background... More : Would be cool to know the French version...! 8-) Every version! |
Date : 10/13/02 Nick Name : Dougster Comments : Well, is the DVD far out or what? Velma in group therapy, Velma belting out a Frankie Valli song -- wow! And what does everyone think of that original beginning? More : Has anyone found more than one of the "hidden extras"? One's all I've found so far... |
