We try to answer as many of the questions as we can.Ask Velma (Continued)

Stop! Stop! I just want to give you dance lessons!Jan Asks- "What is your favorite case and what monster did they call it? Also, do you like Shaggy or Freddy better?"

Velma- From the old series? I would have to say "A Tiki Scare is No Fair", I got to Hula dance! The monster's name was "Mano Tiki Tia." Hey, how many girls aren't going to love a vacation in Hawaii? As for the second question, I love them both dearly like brothers!

Oohhfff! Brenda Asks- "I've watched the Scooby-Doo project. Do you and Daphne really get along ok?"

Velma- We're best friends! (Except occasionally, like when she nailed me in the throat with her elbow!) Danger Prone Daphne! Sometimes she's dangerous to be around, but she's a really great person!

Clayton Asks- "Have you been to Germantown because there are a lot of ghosts here?"

Velma- Germantown Pennsylvania? I love the place! Old houses, cobblestone roads, and yes, a lot of "so called" ghosts! (You know that I don't believe in ghosts, although recent events are starting to make me question this.)

Somebody say hungry?Megan Asks- "Why is Scooby always so hungry?"

Velma- This is a mystery that even I can't figure out! (That and why they stay so thin!) I think the two of them (Shaggy & Scooby) burn most of that food off running away from things!

Three cheers for Angie!

Angie Writes- "I just wanted to say I am a big fan and I would like to know if there would be a movie coming out that the gang would be played by reel famous stars!! And I must say, I have the biggest collection going in the United States!! In my school I was the #1 fan of Scooby Doo."

Velma- There's been a lot of talk about a live action movie. Check out the "Rumors" page on this site for the latest information. As for the collection... WOW!

Where's that girl with the glasses?M.Knouse Asks- "My daughter Maggie would like to know if you could find a werewolf and pull off it's mask????"

Velma- Well, If it was wearing a mask, it probably would not be a true werewolf. As you know, I don't believe in werewolves being real. There are a few shows were we pulled the masks off of people pretending to be werewolves. "Who's Afraid of the Big, Bad Werewolf?" was one of them.

Going somewhere?Tom Asks- "How come Scooby-Doo is so chicken but he saves you and gets the bad guy?"

Velma- Like Shaggy, he only thinks he's chicken! The two of them always try to out-chicken each other, but underneath it all, they would both lay down their lives for a friend! As for getting the bad guys, well, a lot of luck is involved!

I think I have a headache!Daphne 391 Asks- "Dear Velma, did Daphne and Freddy ever kiss in private or in front of you guys?"

Velma- Ah.. Another Daphne / Freddy question. Not to my knowledge, but.... Read my other answer on this question below!

So, what are you doing on Friday?Diana Asks- "Do Daphne and Freddy Date? Or did they ever?"

Velma- Ah, the biggest mystery is the one closest to home! Back in the old days, I would say no. I did always wonder about that pairing thing... But then we all went our separate ways. When we got back together for Zombie Island, things had changed. I kept seeing them make eyes at each other! I suspect there are hidden feelings between the two of them, but they are afraid to talk about it for fear it might break up the gang. I guess time will tell.

Just a mask eh? I bet you would be frightened too!Dusty Asks- "If all the monsters at the end, end up being bad guys, why don't you ever think of that?"

Velma- Well, if they were good guys they probably wouldn't be wearing masks! I am not a big believer in ghost and that kind of thing, but you can never be sure till you get to pull it off.

A little lipstick does wonders!John Asks - "Dear Velma, is Daphne really the prettiest?"

Velma- Gee Thanks! All kidding aside, she does have the looks. Lets face it, it's kind of like asking, "Who is cuter, Shaggy or Freddy?" Most girls would say Freddy!

It's all in my contract here.. I'm the boss!Dhemp Asks - "Why is Freddy always telling you guys what to do?"

Velma - Well, he's the leader. We all have input, but Freddy keeps us all moving forward. Don't worry though, if we have a better idea, we tell him!

I don't think so...Jeff & Deb Ask- "Why don't you you change your hair style?"

Velma- Well, I don't really like long hair, it's very impractical. For the heck of it, I added long hair with a computer to see what it looked like. What do you think? My hair is naturally strait, and I don't like to spend much time on it. The color varies a bit with the seasons, from red to brown. Truth is, I never really gave my hair that much thought.

I can always count on Shaggy to find my glasses!Amanda Asks - "Velma, did you and Shaggy ever date? I think you should, you two make a cute couple! :) "

Velma - "No, we never dated. He's way too much like a brother."

Lyn Asks- "Velma, What do you do with your old glasses?"

Velma- I give them to Drew Carey !

Shaggy! They're for Scooby!!Marcy Asks- "Velma, What is in those Scooby Snacks anyway?"

Velma- There has been a lot of jokes over the years about what is in them! I assure you, all the ingredients are legal! Actually, I made the first batch of them as a joke. I looked for all the flavors that Scooby liked, and mixed them together. They were suppose to be a dog snack, but then Shaggy started to like them too! Go figure. Anyway, they were such a hit that Daphne's dad noticed. Being the smart businessman he is, he put them into commercial production and marketed them. That's why they went from a pocket food to something in a commercial package.

Our "Old Faithful" But this one runs!Lisa Asks - "When did Shaggy find the Mystery Machine?"

Velma- Actually, We've had a couple of them! The first one was a converted 60's VW buss. I guess that was around 1968.... The paint job was Shaggy's idea, Freddy was the only one with a license, and Daphne's dad "loaned" us the cash. The most recent one was a news van being used by the production crew on Daphne's TV show. Freddy had it repainted to pay tribute to the old VW buss! I included pictures of both. The 60's were an odd time. Check out this page for an overview of the 60's. Jinkies! Do you really think I'm stuck in 1966?

Golf Asks- "How did you begin your career as a scooby doo member?"

Velma- I get asked this question a lot, or some variant of it. Check out my interview to get the full scoop. Basically, I always liked to dig into things I didn't know about. The more mysterious, the better!

Randi Asks- "Why don't you and the gang ever change cloths?"

So who's cute now Daphne ?Velma - Oh we do! I'll admit most of the cloths we wear look the same, but if you watched "Zombie Island", you saw Shaggy unpacking twenty of his green tops! That is about what it is like for the rest of us as well! I have my own favorite outfit, but as you can see in this picture, it isn't the only thing I wear!

Michelle Asks- "Who are some of the famous guests that appeared on your series now and then, and what were they like?"

Velma- Wow, the list of guests we had on the series was a real long one. Most all of them appeared in the "The New Scooby Doo Movies." A friend of mine has a good web page that lists them, you can get to it by clicking here. It was always fun! My favorite... Humm.. That's so hard to answer. Maybe Don Addams, or maybe come to think of it, John Astin, who played Gomez on the Addams Family!

Sue Asks - "Are you nearsighted or farsighted?"

Velma - Very nearsighted. (See "casting" page.) To me, the world is a blur without glasses.

Lisa Asks - "When did you join the gang?"

Velma- I was one of the founding members! Shaggy and I hung around together on the playground in the third grade. Freddy and Daphne started hanging too. One day, A teacher said he had lost his wallet. We retraced all his steps and found it. Ok, pretty tame, but hey, we were in the third grade! It was then, all four of us fell in love with mysteries, and the gang was formed!

Carl asks - "Who does Scooby belong to?"

Ri Rove Raggy!Velma- Well, we think he belongs to all of us, but actually, he belongs to Shaggy! Shaggy raised him from a tiny abandon pup! He instantly became part of the gang!

Wuzzie Asks "Velma why do people call you the youngest one of the gang?"

Velma - Because I was! I started school early so I ended up in the same class. Then later, skipped ahead, and ended up graduating by the time I was 15. It was funny because Freddy did all the driving early on because I was too young to have a license, yet, he was still in school when I was a high school graduate! It helped equal us all out. Sometimes people guess my age too high. I guess that should be an insult for a girl, but right now I don't mind!

Lisa Asks - "Were you teased a lot about your glasses?"Personally, I think glasses are cool!

Velma - As I said in my interview, I laugh loudest at myself, but of course there are always some mean hearted people out there! If you wear glasses, you look different, and if you look different, you get teased! It's just a stage they go through, they'll outgrow it! In the meantime, if you wear glasses, do like me, wear them proudly!!
